The country of Nepal is landlocked between China and India. The capital of Nepal is Kathmandu. It is known for the Himalayan mountains in the northern part of the country. Mount Everest is the best known of these, and the highest mountain in the world at 29,029 feet. The population of Nepal is approximately 29 million people. The capital of Nepal is Kathmandu. Many of the citizens in Nepal struggle to find work and earn enough money to provide for their family. There are many significant physical needs among the Nepalese people. One of the most significant needs is water, as UNICEF estimates that only 25% of the water supply is working. 3.5 million people do not have access to basic water services. Everyday children are dying of preventable diseases caused by poor water and a lack of sanitation and hygiene.

There are many needs spiritually as well. The primary religion in Nepal is Hinduism, representing over 83% of the population. The Joshua Project estimates that only 1.3% of the population are followers of Jesus. So not only do you have significant physical needs in Nepal, but spiritually as well. 

We at Quenched are looking to change this. We exist to bring clean water and the gospel to unreached peoples, those who have never heard of Jesus. We partner with local pastors who identify needs for clean water and have the well drilled and installed. Then at a well dedication ceremony they share the Living Water of Jesus and begin to build relationships with the community.
